Botanical Art in Pen & Ink: Desert Lupin with artist/illustrator Adela Antoinette

**Beginner to Intermediate Level**

This class is a great introduction to pen & ink techniques using botany as our main subject. The specific theme for this class: Desert Lupin! We will explore line contour, a variety of pen strokes and positive & negative space. These tools and techniques explored will be beneficial to creating our official project of the class, which will be a final ink drawing of Desert Lupin.

Main Concepts:

  • Line weights/widths
  • Variety of pen strokes
  • Subject-positive and negative space
  • Line contour and control, hand and eye coordination

 Tools Needed:

  • Pencils and erasers
  • Pens (At least two sizes if possible- Micro or Copic | Ball point pens + Sharpies are okay too)
  • Paper (Illustration board, mixed media paper, or even printer paper will do.)
  • Watercolor paper (90lb-140lb hot or cold press)
  • Photo of Desert Lupin (A few photos will be sent out the week of class)

Art materials are not included in price of this class. Please provide your own materials.

Online class participants will receive a Zoom link for the live class two hours before the class begins.

All online classes are recorded and participants receive a video replay that is available for two weeks after the date of the class.
