Permaculture Garden Volunteering

This event is no longer on sale.

Sunday April 23

8:30 AM  –  11:00 AM

Join the Tucson Botanical Gardens' Horticulture Team in creating a special new space at the Gardens. Gardener Kat will go over her design for this new space and tell us a little bit about what it was like to implement it!

Her design demonstrates good tenets of permaculture gardening: sustainable materials, good species selection, and passive rainwater harvesting. As a demonstration garden, every visitor to the Garden can learn about these sustainable practices and take them home to practice themselves.

This volunteer opportunity will be a day out in the sun carving the ground, laying mulch, planting plants, or doing whatever the Horticulture Team needs to finish up this space. Please come prepared with closed toed shoes, a water bottle, sunscreen, and functional clothing which can get dirty.
