Poinsettias in Watercolor

While considered by the ancient Aztecs to be symbols of purity, in today’s language of flowers, red, white or pink poinsettias, the December birth flower, symbolize good cheer and success and are said to bring wishes of mirth and celebration. In this class we will explore techniques to draw and paint these beautiful plants. Instruction includes drawing and a variety of watercolor painting techniques. All levels of skill are welcome.

Materials are not provided, please provide your own. Here's a recommended list:

  • watercolor paint - a small palette will do
  • brushes - a round and a flat
  • palette - a place to mix paint with water (a white plate is nice)
  • watercolor paper - Canson is affordable or anything labeled #140
  • pencil, eraser, water container, paper towels
  • scratch paper

Online class participants will receive a Zoom link for the live class two hours before the class begins.

All online classes are recorded and participants receive a video replay that is available for two weeks after the date of the class.
